Overall Reflection for Europe TripHello people, here is Kah Min posting her reflection for Europe Trip.
But firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thanks the Humanities Teachers for organizing this trip. I would also like to thanks all the other schoolmates for making it possible this trip possible. Without you guys, the trip will not be sure a wonderful and memorable one.
We went to three countries in total, Austria, Germany & Italy. We visited the salt mine in Salzburg, Neuschwanstein Castle, Dachau Concentration Camp and Munich City in Munich and finally Rome and Venice in Italy.
Through this trip, I know that European Union is a political and economic union of 27 member states, located in Europe and the whole Europe is having the same currencies as they want to improve their economics.
Now I will share with you what I have learnt in Germany and Italy.
Germany:
- I have learnt from the Dachau Concentration Camp that there must not be racism at anywhere.
- Everyone should be treated fairly
- I will always remember quote Mr Dan told us:
“Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.”
Frank Outlaw
Italy:
1. I know that there is even country smaller than Singapore, and it is Vatican City. Vatican City only has got 900 citizens in their nation. Vatican City is rule by the Popes (the leader of the Roman Catholic Church).
2. Mount Vesuvius was located in Rome and it is an active volcano!
3. Pompeii was once destroyed by Mount Vesuvius. And the whole city disappears.
4. Venice City is sinking and the sea level is rising, so if we don’t help to save it, it may disappear in 50 years times. So help to save by stop polluting the Earth.
Overall, I prefer germany than Italy as the traffic there is much more smoothier than in germany and there is also lesser people smoking there, which causes lesser air pollution.
However, I prefer the people in Italy as they are more friendly. :D
Through this trip, I really learn a lot. I will not forget what I have been taught. I would like to visit these places again and think from different angle, so that I can see things through many views and not just one. This trip also taught me to be independent, and see things from different view.
Once again, I would like to thanks everyone and everything the teachers have done for us. Thank you teachers for the joke and laughter, thank you Mr Dan for telling us the history of various places we have visited and also the jokes and meaningful quote and last but not least, Mr Jani for sending us all over the places even if he work overtime. Thanks everyone. I will not forget everything and I will keep this deep in my heart. Without anyone, this trip will not be a memorable one. Thank you again! :D
