GREETINGS FROM VENEZIA, ITALIA!Hello, Gavin here again. its 5.20am right now. woke up at 3am, cant sleep. ok, the internet is not free, even in Italy. we went to the Salzburg Salt Mines yesterday, on route to Venice. The students really enjoyed the trip into the earth, literally. all of us wore a white protective overall and took a 'mini-train' ride into the mines. will update with the students posting when we are able to consolidate with more info from today's trip to Venice, the island, Then we'll try to post it together to cut costs.
The rest of yesterday was a long drive from Salzburg in Austria to Venice. Most of us had ice cream in the cold... standing in the petrol kiosk during a stopover. and some of us, did it without a jacket on. haha. the temperature is about 8 to 9 degress celcius now.
The hotel we are staying at right now, is called Hotel Albatros (with 1 S). Its not as new as the one in Germany. The students were kind of put off by it coz of the pampering of bathtubs, new rooms in Munich, but in the end, it doesnt matter. all of them are sleeping soundly now. Didnt hear any noise form the rooms when i made my way down here. I'm in the lobby, and that is where the the internet access is. no where else in the hotel. I'm alone here, with the duty manager who is, i reckon 2 meters tall. bought the internet access from him. Anyway, i cant get out of the hotel to take pictures now. the hotel is under lockdown. safer for the guests, i guess. thats a good thing.I'm hungry already, where's my italian breakfast..?
we'll try to get the students to share their experiences by the end of Thursday (over here). Meanwhile, CIAO!
